Sounds like a them problem. I'd have more sympathy if they weren't trying to kill us.
KLAIR
Yeah, but they're under the control of the House, or whatever. Maybe they're forced to attack us.
LEON
Fuck this House.
Leon speaks with such sudden anger that it scares you. He's always been... well, not as laid-back as Issac, but more relaxed than he is now. You don't think you can fault him for that right now, though.
LEON
It's like-- Okay, so it wants us to help Emmie and shit, it wants us to figure out what happened to her brother and help her move on or something. But it's making that IMPOSSIBLE.
KLAIR
Who's... Emmie?
LEON
What? You don't know? She's the girl in the attic.
ISSAC
Babe...? How'd you know that?
LEON
I... don't know.
BAI
Now that you mention it, I'm fairly certain you're correct!
Leon looks pale, and Issac puts an arm around him, concern on his face. You pull Bai aside for a second.
KLAIR
Do you know what's wrong with Leon?
BAI
I have an idea, I think, yeah.
KLAIR
...and?? What is it?
BAI
Leon is her victim. She's lured him in here.
KLAIR
Okay. And what's that mean for us?
BAI
She's strengthening her control over him. He's fighting it, whether he realizes or not, but... he can't hold out forever. Once she establishes control, she'll bring him to the attic to... uh. Y'know.
KLAIR
Shit! Okay, that's bad. How long do you think we have until that happens?
BAI
I don't know. Maybe three, four hours or so?
KLAIR
Okay, that's not that bad. We blew through Nick's maze in, like, twenty minutes.
BAI
Nicholas' maze took you around two hours.
KLAIR
What...? No way. It didn't feel that long at all.
BAI
Klair, I can't keep repeating myself. Time and space work differently here from what you're used to. In here, it's practically a whole pocket dimension or something!
KLAIR
...We just have to pick up the pace and get to her before she gets to Leon.
